French at Hilton Lane opens a window to the wider world, inspiring children to become confident, curious and enthusiastic language learners.
Our progressive MFL curriculum introduces pupils to rich vocabulary, everyday conversations, stories, songs and cultural experiences, allowing them to build strong foundations in speaking, listening, reading and writing. From greetings, numbers and colours to describing people, exploring French towns, ordering food and talking about hobbies, children develop their language skills step‑by‑step, applying new vocabulary in meaningful contexts.
Carefully chosen stories and songs strengthen memory and pronunciation, while regular conversational practice helps pupils speak with increasing accuracy and confidence. As they explore French culture, traditions, food and geography, pupils gain a deeper appreciation of the global community.
At Hilton Lane, learning French is joyful, practical and empowering—giving every child the skills and confidence to communicate beyond the classroom.
