Science at Hilton Lane is an exciting, hands‑on journey of curiosity, investigation and discovery. Our curriculum encourages children to think like real scientists—asking questions, making predictions, carrying out fair tests and using evidence to reach thoughtful conclusions. From exploring plants, animals and materials in Key Stage 1 to investigating forces, electricity, earth and space, evolution and the human body in Key Stage 2, pupils develop secure scientific knowledge step‑by‑step.
Working scientifically is at the heart of every unit: children observe closely, measure carefully, gather and present data, notice patterns and evaluate their findings with increasing independence and accuracy as they move through school. Through practical enquiry, outdoor learning and real‑life scientific contexts, pupils learn to question the world around them, make sense of how things work and understand the importance of science in everyday life.
At Hilton Lane, our science curriculum inspires curiosity, builds confidence and empowers every child to see themselves as a scientist.

"I love working scientifically because it feels like being a real detective, trying to figure out how everything works. It’s exciting when I test something and discover something new, especially when it’s not what I expected!"
